Madoka Kaname

A girl who wished to save all Magical Girls and became a god-like entity known as the "Law of the Cycle."
However, toward the end of Rebellion, Homura stripped away the records of Madoka Kaname's human existence from the Law of the Cycle; as a result, she now lives an ordinary life as a second-year student at Mitakihara Middle School.
Homura Akemi
VA Chiwa Saito
A girl who made a contract with Kyubey and became a Magical Girl in order to alter Madoka Kaname's fate; she possesses the ability to travel back in time. In Rebellion, she transformed into a demon after rewriting the world, driven by her feelings for Madoka. In the altered Mitakihara, she lives out her daily life with Madoka exactly as she pleases, existing as a demon.
Sayaka Miki
VA Eri Kitamura
She has an energetic personality and is Madoka's best friend. Hoping to heal the injuries of her childhood friend, Kyosuke Kamijo, she made a contract with Kyubey; however, she accumulated too many curses and transformed into a Witch. In Rebellion, she returned to the mortal world as an emissary of the Law of the Cycle.
Kyoko Sakura
VA Ai Nonaka
A spirited Magical Girl who came from the neighboring city of Kazamino. She took an interest in Sayaka—whom she met in Mitakihara City—because she saw echoes of her own past in her; however, Sayaka ultimately transformed into a Witch, and Kyoko stayed by her side until the very end. In Rebellion, she transferred to Mitakihara Middle School and lived with Sayaka.
Mami Tomoe
VA Kaori Mizuhashi
A third-year student at Mitakihara Middle School and a senior to Madoka and the others, she is a veteran Magical Girl who serves as a reliable, big-sister figure to the group. She can conjure weapons from the ribbons she freely manipulates in battle. Her powerful "Tiro Finale" attack she unleashes from her summoned firearms boasts the greatest destructive power in the series.
Nagisa Momoe
VA Kana Asumi
She was once a girl who loved cheese. In Rebellion, she accompanied Mami in the form of Bebe, but her true identity—like Sayaka's—was that of an entity who had returned to the mortal world as an emissary of the Law of the Cycle. Although she is younger than Madoka and her friends and behaves with innocent cheerfulness, she occasionally reveals a sharp, perceptive side.
Kyubey
VA Emiri Kato
A mysterious creature that appears before young girls and transforms them into Magical Girls in exchange for granting their wishes. Although it speaks in a friendly and rational manner, its true objective is to extend the lifespan of the universe by harnessing the energy generated when a Magical Girl falls into despair and transforms into a Witch. In Rebellion, it attempted to seize control of the Law of the Cycle by exploiting Homura—who was on the verge of becoming a Witch—but was thwarted by Homura after she transformed into a demon.
